About Us

Dr. Jennifer Altvater attended Ross School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with her DVM in 2017. She dreamed about becoming a veterinarian as a child but didn’t know at the time that she would enjoy helping not just animals, but people, too. Nurturing and supporting the bonds between people and their pets gives Dr. Altvater a sense of fulfillment and happiness. Her husband is also a veterinarian, and together they have a variety of pets in their family: Kissa, an Italian Greyhound; Simon, Colby, and Nermal, the household kitties; 2 horses; a goat named Chelsea; and many chickens. Dr. Altvater has a special place in her heart for Kissa, who has been at her side through thick and thin since she started college, attended veterinary school, got married, and obtained her first job as a veterinarian. In 2021, Dr. Altvater and her husband became the owners of All Creatures Animal Hospital in Wauchula, Florida.

In addition to her work, Dr. Altvater also loves horseback riding, volleyball, gardening, and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Andrew Altvater was born and raised in Highlands County. He graduated with a BS in Animal Science from the University of Florida in 2010 and then graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. He was active in the Veterinary Business Management Association as a member and chapter president, leadership roles with the University during orientation and teambuilding retreats, and intramural sports including flag football, volleyball, and golfing. He is an active member of the AVMA, FVMA, and VBMA Alumni. His veterinary interests include specialty surgeries, teambuilding, and training. Outside of All Creatures Animal Hospital, which he owns with his wife, Dr. Jennifer Altvater, he enjoys golfing, video games, movies, and relaxing at home with their cats, dogs, horses, and flock of chickens. In 2019, they were blessed with their first child, Olivia. In 2022, their second child, James was born, and in 2025 their third child, Danny.

Dr. Leah Altvater is a part time associate for All Creatures Animal Hospital. A Hardee County native, she earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Animal Science and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida. Most of her career was spent in Highlands County. She joined her son and daughter-in-law in Wauchula when the opportunity arose. Activities outside of work include church, caring for a small farm, raising flowering plants, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her goal in life is to make her little part of the world a better place.
